keyboard but since the graphical user interface-based operating systems like
Windows 95,
Windows 98

such a device, with the help of which can be done anywhere on the screen.

By pressing the left button, we can select the object and a
program is executed by double-clicking it. The same Pop-Up of Contextual Menus
opens on pressing Right Button.
Scroll wheel:-
It is present between two buttons, which helps us to scroll
on a page.
Ball, Laser, and Led:-
If the mouse is a mechanical mouse, it uses a ball to move
the pointer in the X-Y direction on the computer screen. In contrast, Optical
Mouse is equipped with Laser or Led Light.
Circuit board:-
A board is present within the Mouse to transmit the input we
are giving, to Signal, to Computer.
Cable:-
This cable is used to connect Mouse to the computer. This
cable comes with USB or Ps / 2 Port.

The mouse has two or three Buttons. It is the Right

the file and the Left Button is used to open the menu Baar.

The mouse has a USB Cable, through that cable, the mouse can
be attached to the computer and to use the Wireless Mouse we must have a
wireless port.
What is Mouse Pointer?
Pointer or Cursor is called, which shows the position or
location of your Mouse in the Graphical User Interface. This is a Graphical
Image, which appears on your Computer Screen in the shape of an arrow. Pointer
also changes its position when moving the Mouse to the desk. With its help, we
can open the program and can also drag a file to another location.
Mouse Types - Mouse Types
Serial mouse:-
This is the oldest type mouse in this list which is not
coming in handy anymore, but you can see it in some machines in Government
Offices.
It has a Serial Connector (A DE-9 F D-Subminiature) and it needs
a Free Serial Port to connect with Pc.
It is a Typically Corded-Type Mouse and it takes from the
Power Serial Port to operate itself.
This serial mouse is also referred to as Cold-Pluggable,
which means that one should connect with the computer only when the computer is
in the Switched Off position.
Ps / 2 Mouse:-
This Ps / 2 Mouse is the upper version of the Serial Mouse. People are
attracted to them more because of their arrival. They can still be purchased as
many Motherboard Manufacturers are still providing Ps / 2 Port.
This Ps / 2 Connector is Circular and has 6 Pins, due to their design, they
are only Aligned with Port and Inserted correctly. Ps / 2 Mouse are
also cold-pluggable.
Laser mouse:-
Laser Mouse is also a type of optical mouse, it also uses
the same technology to track position. The only difference between them is that
Laser Mouse uses Laser Beam instead of Led. Its advantage is that you can use
it on Glass and Plastic Surface. However, it is not as famous because it also
has some flaws.
Mechanical mouse:-
This mouse was invented by Bill English in 1972. The Mechanical Mouse used a
ball for instructions. Hence it is also called Ball Mouse. This ball could be
rotated from right to left and up and down.
Trackball mouse:-
The design of this mouse is also similar to that of some
optical mouse. But it uses a trackball for control.
To instruct the computer, the user has to rotate the ball
with his finger or fingers. This mouse does not give us much control. And it
also takes time to run.
USB mouse:-
If we talk about now, then nowadays we use Mouse with USB
Interface so that a Free USB Port is needed. They are either Corded or Cordless
/ Wireless. These are Hotpluggable, in Serial, and Ps / 2 Counterpart.
Optical mouse:-
Lastly, a state-of-the-art optical mouse is currently being
used, in which Led (Light Emitting Diode) is used to detect the distance fixed
by the mouse, it does not have any rotating parts.
Wireless mouse:-
This type of mouse is wireless and hence it is named as
Cordless Mouse. Such mouse is based on Radiofrequency Technique and they follow
the same. To use wireless mouse we must have Transmitter and Receiver
Transmitter. The mouse is placed in the mouse itself and the Receiver is
attached to the computer separately. Such a wireless mouse does not remain
electric. For this, a small battery is required, which has to be installed
separately.
